Acknowledgement of Traditional Owners

QUT acknowledges the Turrbal and Yugara as the First Nations owners of the lands where QUT now stands. We pay respect to their Elders, lores, customs and creation spirits. We recognise that these lands have always been places of teaching, research, and learning. QUT acknowledges the important role Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people continue to play within the QUT community.

The Host Campus for ANZSOC 2025

The Queensland University of Technology (QUT) is delighted to host the ANZSOC 2025 Conference at our Gardens Point Campus located in the heart of Brisbane City. Our campus is home to public arts venues, museums, top fitness facilities and our state-of-the-art Science and Engineering Centre.

QUT Gardens Point is also situated alongside Parliament House, the City Botanic Gardens and the Brisbane River. The Goodwill Bridge gives you easy access on foot or bicycle to the cultural hub of South Bank. We recommend adding some extra time to your travel itinerary to explore our beautiful river city and landmarks.

Our Theme: Advancing Knowledge, Shaping Justice

The field of criminology faces unprecedented challenges and opportunities in the 21st century and beyond. From technological advancements to the emergence of new forms of crime, the field must innovate to remain impactful and prepared to prevent crime and harm. The conference theme, Advancing Knowledge, Shaping Justice, seeks to bring together scholars, practitioners, and policymakers to explore how the field can anticipate and adapt to these shifts in crime and society.
